Dances

Use the Dances tab to say how well you know each dance, and whether you want to do it. It’s a grid like the ticksheet. The repertoire, every dance the side does, runs down the left, and the dancers run across the top.

If you’re not down as a dancer, your column may be hidden. Press View: Dancers, beside the zoom, to show everybody.

An answer on the ticksheet is about one day. An answer here stays until you change it.

Dances the side no longer does sit in a band at the bottom, under No longer in the repertoire. You can still answer them. They can come back into the repertoire.

Your answers

Tap a cell to answer. A box opens with two questions and a line for a note. Each answer saves as soon as you pick it.

The two questions are separate. You can be confident in a dance and still not like it, or love one you can’t do yet. Either can be left blank.

How well do you know it? has six answers:

Confident or Nearly there: You could do it.

More practice, Refresher please, Needs teaching or What's that?!: Not yet. Each one tells whoever teaches what sort of help you need.

Do you want to do it? has five: Love it, Happy to, Don't mind, Under duress or Don't like.

Anything to add? takes one line for anything else, like “not leading” or “only in second corner”. You can add one with any answers, or with none.

You can only fill in your own column, unless you can edit the dances. That’s an admin, and whoever holds an office that edits them (the offices table says which).

The total

The Totals column is at the end of each row. Its first line, could do it, counts everybody who answered Confident or Nearly there, less anybody who said Don't like.

Under duress still counts, since they’ll do it if asked nicely.

For example, 9 people answer Confident or Nearly there, and 1 of them says Don't like. The first line says 8 could do it.

The second line counts everybody who said Confident, whether or not they like it. A third, not said, counts anybody who hasn’t answered, and only appears when there is somebody.

A dance’s own page

Tap a dance’s name to open its page. It’s laid out in the order you’re likely to need things:

How it goes is files and links rather than typed text. It might be the figures as a PDF or photo, a recording, or a link to something that can’t be uploaded.

Recordings get a player, so you can listen without downloading anything. Anything typed into the old notation box is still there and still shown.

To add or remove a file, you need to be able to edit the dances:

  1. Press Edit this dance on its page.
  2. Use Upload to add a file, or the cross beside one to remove it.

Both happen straight away, without waiting for Save. Removing a file can’t be undone, so it asks first. That’s why the crosses are only on the edit screen, not on the page everybody reads.
